Are you ready to serve as an Engineer on our Environmental Health & Safety team? In this role, you will ensure environmental regulatory compliance while protecting company assets (people, property, time) that are consistent with Micron's greater business strategy, and delivering efficient processes. You will represent Micron interests to stakeholders on matters pertaining to compliance and asset protection and ensuring environmental resources are adequate to accomplish the organization's objectives.
Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Interpret regulations for applicability and develop compliance plans with appropriate operational groups
  • Develop and maintain accurate environmental permits, modifications and operating procedures. Evaluate proposed facility changes and address regulatory requirements as necessary
  • Prepare regulatory and internal reports; quantify risks and impacts
  • Evaluate pollution control technologies including technical and economic feasibility of pollution control equipment
  • Prepare calculations necessary for reporting and monitoring
  • Prepare recommendations and reporting of results
  • Perform compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and conformance with ISO14001. Perform training of team members, as necessary
  • Evaluate aspects and impacts associated with operations and continuously improve environmental compliance programs
  • Work with Environmental Compliance team to achieve high compliance and sustainability goals
  • Represent Micron in a professional and effective manner to both internal and external parties
  • Respond to environmental issues and carry/answer the on-call phone when assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree: Environmental, science or related.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in related field
  • Familiarity/working knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, CAA, CWA (NPDES, MSGP, CGP, SPCC) ISO14001
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent spreadsheet abilities, adept at learning new programs

Works on assignments to develop, implement and maintain inspection procedures and programs designed to minimize deficiencies and ensure compliance with existing Federal, State and local laws, regulations, licenses, permits and ordinances pertaining to health, safety and environmental control at the organization's facilities. Assists in the identification of potential or actual areas of non-compliance through personal on-site inspections. Assists in preparing technical reports based on the interpretation of data, observations, and current regulations regarding inspection findings and recommendations for corrective action. Keeps current on specific requirements imposed by government agencies through reading of the statutes, regulations, licenses, and permits; consultation with other members of the Environmental Division; and consulting with operating unit and field personnel.
