Your Responsibilities
As an Engineering Manager for John Deere Financial located in Johnston, IA, you will manage multiple software engineering teams focused on Digital Purchase and Customer Account Management products providing the team servant leadership and critical input into major technology decisions for both existing and emerging global needs aligned with the product strategy and roadmaps. In addition, you will:
- Understand the vision, strategy, and customer for your area of responsibility and influence the technical dimensions of the roadmap.
- Manage the staffing strategy of two or more Scrum teams. Build and develop teams of highly talented and driven individuals by motivating, recognizing, identifying, mentoring, coaching, and developing talent.
- Be accountable for the technical roadmap for your teams and provide engineering leadership in all aspects of product development including the design, development, implementation, operation, and support of your products.
- Provide input into and manage the operating budget for your area.
- Form and maintain collaborative relationships with and between stakeholders, your team members, and other teams.
- Drive a culture of continual experimentation and learning while leading by example.

What Skills You Need
- Prior experience managing and leading software engineering teams operating in an Agile delivery methodology.
- Extensive technical knowledge and prior experience working across a wide breadth of technology competencies, such as: Single Page/Web/Hybrid applications and APIs, cloud native application development in AWS/Azure/GCP, infrastructure as code, relational and NoSQL databases.
- Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies and DevSecOps practices including: Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration/Deployment, build and test pipeline automation, monitoring, and other DevSecOps methodologies and mindsets.
- Demonstrated ability to translate ideas into actions, deliverables, and outcomes.
- An ability to inspire and motivate others to produce their best and to identify and grow talent.
- Excellence in verbal and written communication with emphasis on persuasive communication, tact and negotiation.
What Makes You Stand Out
- Prior financial services/fintech experience.
- Prior experience developing and/or integrating with digital purchase/payment solutions such as Stripe, PayPal, etc.
- Prior experiences leading teams to produce remarkable outcomes.
- Expertise in JavaScript,TypeScript, ReactJS, NodeJS, ReactNative, GraphQL.
- Expertise in cloud-native serverless technologies in AWS such as API Gateway, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, and Route53
Education
Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Technology or Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience.
