ABOUT THE TEAM


The Engineering organization is ~40 engineers, on three teams: Transaction/Brokerage Management, Agent Marketing and Platform Engineering. We appreciate diversity of thought and backgrounds. Core Transaction Engineering is responsible for building the features of our main product offering. What's also really cool is that we share office space with some of our real estate agents, giving us unparalleled access to feature ideas and feedback on product development.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • As a manager of the Core Transaction Engineering team, you will lead and empower a team of frontend, backend, and full-stack engineers through hiring, mentoring, training, feedback, and career development.
  • You will grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with Side’s values. You know how to handle conflicts well and help build consensus.
  • You will collaborate with the Product, Design, and other engineering teams to define customer and internal facing features, as well as evaluating external partnerships for integration into our platform.
  • You will advocate and advance agile software development practices and track metrics for quality and team performance that result in continuous improvement.
  • You will provide strong technical leadership. You will also lead and participate in critical technical, design, and product discussions with leaders across our product and operations.
  • You will be responsible for the success of your team's product and deliver quantifiable results in a timely manner.

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU A STRONG FIT FOR THE ROLE?

  • We are looking for someone with at least 3+ years of consistent track record of managing, developing, leading, and coaching software engineers of all levels to deliver high quality software in high velocity teams.
  • You have experience with hiring great engineers and scaling up engineering teams.
  • You should have experience working with PMs, designers and/or data scientists, and others teams to identify, prioritize, and solve problems.
  • You have at least 5+ years of hands-on software development experience and have the ability to provide technical mentorship and guidance to the team.
  • It would be a plus if you have hired and managed other engineering managers.
  • It would be a plus if you have a strong experience with Javascript, especially React/Next.js on the frontend and Node on the backend.
