Summary:

The Systems Engineering team, as part of the Project Success Organization, comprises subject matter experts as an integral part of Powin’s scalability and long-term approach to customer success and experience. The Systems Engineering team will define system requirements and provide day-to-day support to Sales, Sales Engineering, and Project Engineering. Expertise, training and mentoring, studies and analysis will be provided to support project requirements and various tools to elevate and streamline the Project Success Team. Systems Engineering will work closely with various departments to ensure projects fulfill customer functionality and contract requirements to provide system solutions and support the customer experience through the entire customer lifecycle. The Energy Storage Safety Engineer will be a subject matter expert and resource for the Sales team, Bid Management team, Project Engineering, and customers on all topics related to safety and fire safety systems (FSS), codes, and regulations and will support development of fire safety designs.

Job Details:

●Works with the Sales Engineering team and Project Engineering Team to develop Fire Safety System designs and specifications for non-standard customer requirements that include fire panels, fire suppression equipment, etc.

●Works with the Sales team, Bid Management team, and the customers to review and provide support for technical documents required in customer contracts.

●Provides safety documentation, white papers, and training to internal and external customers

 ●Generates reports and assessments for code compliance, hazard analysis, hazard mitigation, and emergency response planning.

●Works closely with Product Management and Engineering teams to identify any gaps in the existing or proposed energy storage solutions, specify requirements, and review and approve safety documents to ensure designs are compliant with applicable codes and standards for fire safety.

●Undertakes research and training to enhance existing offerings and fill-in gaps in knowledge, expertise and skills.

●Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

●Five or more years of experience in supporting development and design of fire safety systems DocuSign 

●BS or advanced degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field

●Professional Engineering License is preferred but not required

●Expert knowledge and demonstrated experience applying various NFPA and regulatory codes in the field of fire protection engineering

.●Experience coordinating with other engineering disciplines to create a comprehensive fire protection design

●Experience with the creation of supporting design documentation such as hazard analysis, hazard mitigation, and emergency response planning

●Specific experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems is a plus

●Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally verbally and in writing

●Limited travel requirements
