EDI Domain Architect

This position is part of the global Information Systems team, Electrification. As a Senior Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Solutions Architect, you will be responsible for architecting integration solutions and ensuring successful delivery. While also maintaining Business to Business (B2B) integrations with customers and suppliers. Reporting to the Information Systems Department Manager, you will be part of a team applying strong Information Systems application technology knowledge and expertise to assist with global business needs and help solve difficult topics.
Your responsibilities

  • Sharing expert knowledge and mentoring other team members as required to assist in professional development
  • Overseeing solution development and monitoring task completion, assisting others to ensure timely project completions
  • Working closely with software vendor to open tickets and bringing to successful resolution
  • Influencing technical direction of vendor product development beneficial to ABB
  • EDI Map development, enhancements, testing and troubleshooting
  • Working closely with SAP functional teams to identify and analyze EDI requirements, delivering new or extended SAP IDOC interfaces
  • Network communication setups utilizing AS/2, S/FTP and other network protocols.
  • Onboarding and configuring new trading partners setups
  • Creating integration interfaces between application systems using EDI/XMl/JSON/RESTFUL APIs
  • Producing technical documents to include mapping specifications and implementation guidelines
  • Monitoring overall network and system landscape providing technical support as required to resolve production issues

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred or related degree with minimum 20+ years of B2B/EDI/XML design and development experience.
  • Strong experience with using middleware technology to integrate SAP/ERP systems to include SAP ECC 6.0 document formats, RFC and ALE.
  • Strong knowledge of ANSI X.12 and UN/EDIFACT standards.
  • SAP knowledge is a highly desired utilizing OTC and P2P IDOC integration documents.
  • Experience with designing, developing and implementing enterprise-level integrations.
  • Deep expertise in onboarding new customers/suppliers.
  • Excellent communications abilities to interact with business owners and external customers/suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously that involve key stakeholders.
  • Experience in configuring network communications utilizing AS/2, S/FTP and other network protocols
  • Experience with JDBC adapter, SAP adapter, Flat Files and XML.
  • Experience developing/implementing Web Services and data mapping.
  • Strong understanding of customer facing ANSI X.12 transactions including transactions 850, 855, 856, 810 and others.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, programming and organization skills required.
  • Expert knowledge of the BizManager, Bizlink, and BizMapper EDI software is required.
  • Multilink and SecureLink experience is a a major plus,
  • Experience with JSON and Restful APIs is a major plus.
  • Experience with AS/3 any AS/4 network protocols is a plus.
  • Experience with cXML Rossanet PIPS and other industry implementation of XML is a plus.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
