We are seeking a driven, highly motivated DevOps Engineer looking to support emerging cloud technologies and services at Asurion. A DevOps Engineer in the Cloud Governance team is responsible for establishing, implementing, and enforcing cloud best practices, and reporting on the usage and adoption of Cloud Services within Asurion across multiple cloud service providers. They work directly with our development and operations teams to bootstrap them with the basic knowledge and tools that need to drive innovation across their platforms while minimizing cost and risk to the organization. Asurion offers a large, fast paced, multi-cloud environment that provides opportunities to use and gain exposure to the latest cloud service and technologies
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support inquiries and questions from Asurion teams as it pertains to their usage or challenges with cloud service usage
- Find ways to reduce the friction associated with adopting and consuming cloud-based services with compromising availably, security, and cost
- Keep up with new innovations and enhancements to services across our different cloud providers
- Review and certification of new cloud services for consumption by other Asurion teams
- Ensure solutions are consistently applied and meet existing governance and compliance requirements
- Identify opportunities for greater self-service of cloud-based services
- Manage and support the relationship between out customers and our cloud providers, advocating and advancing their needs with our service providers
- Drive maximum efficiency around our use of the cloud through policy creation, updates, changes, and new tooling to detect waste
- Development of policy and tooling that detect and remediation in-proper/poor configuration that put platforms and/or the organization at risk
- Partner with our security teams to identify risk and implement standards, tooling, and configurations that strengthen our security posture
- Leverage your deep knowledge of cloud-based services to support Asurion teams during critical outages and incidents
- Work with team to migrate and/or transform their on-prem platforms and workloads to a cloud native solution
- Provide quality customer service through excellent communication, feedback, and follow-through

Here's what you'll bring to the team:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years' experience preferably in Software, Engineering, or Infrastructure teams
- Minimum 2 years' experience supporting Production environment
- Experience managing cloud and hybrid-based solutions. (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Self-motivated, dedicated, independent, and possesses ability to learn quickly.
- Well-rounded troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Ability to interact with diverse groups of technical and non-technical people.
- Ability to understand technical subjects and emerging technologies
- Strong organizational/project management skills with ability to pro-actively drive consensus/solutions and associated processes (or improvements to them)
- Experience with languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, Scala, nodeJS, etc.
- Development and CI/CD tool experience (BitBucket, Jenkins, Terraform, etc.)
