This position is for our Frankfurt, Germany site. Note that we have flexibility for remote working from the UK.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Developer - Reliability to join our Pack Support team. This is not your typical Development or Support role. As a member of our Customer Reliability engineering team, you are very technical and work directly with R&D and our Site Reliability Engineering team to support the Arctic Wolf system components hosted in our customer environments. Security is what we do and reliability is what we need in order to provide the best possible Security Operations for our customers. You will work closely with our developers, security services engineers, product managers, architects and customer success managers to ensure our product meets the needs of our clients. Our offering includes software and hardware and you will work with both to solve complex, impacting issues with urgency, and triage issues to hand off to subject matter experts.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Help develop CRE processes and best practices

  • Work very closely with our SRE & Platform Engineering teams to ensure Arctic Wolf services are running optimally

  • Collaborate with the R&D product teams in developing reliable, scalable, observable systems

  • Analyze incoming alerts based on different endpoints; Physical or Virtual devices

  • Detect problems with alerts or alert thresholds, work with team members at all levels, drive a remediation plan and communicate effectively with all parties through to completion.

  • Collaborate with PackSupport & Technical Operations to identify areas of customer impact

  • Steer investigations within your area of expertise, and leverage your knowledge to engage the other experts within other disciplines appropriately

  • Reduce toil by automating everything

We value a culture of sharing, so every team has the opportunity to share their work with the entire department during our monthly R&D Demos. Once a year we hold a department-wide Hackathon, teaming up across all R&D teams over four days to collaborate and build cool ideas outside the normal project scope. While innovation is the focus, some of these ideas do make it into our products.

About You

You have a keen interest in automation and reliability of service. You thrive on using your excellent communication skills to work across organizational boundaries in order to improve service to customers.You are independent, accountable and enjoy a technical challenge. You are excited to learn new technologies and work without a script.

You may have some exposure to and an interest in:

  • Working in a reliability team with a focus on customer reliability

  • Working in a Network Operations Center, Incident Response or R&D sustaining team

  • Knowledge of SRE concepts, principles and processes

  • Development experience in Python, Go, C++ or Java, including bug & error code identification

  • Scripting tools and languages such as Python, Bash, Powershell, and the creation of scrips to solve complex problems

  • UNIX - (Ubuntu preferred), command line tools, and log messages in order to analyze, troubleshoot device issues and pin point issues

  • use of APIs to troubleshoot and update information

Previous security experience is preferred but not required. We provide all the cybersecurity training you need during onboarding and on-the-job training.

*For this role, proficient English language skills (reading, writing, speaking) are a requirement. German language skills are a nice-to-have. 

Interview process

The interview process is approximately as follows:

  • Phone pre-screening: A recruiter contacts you to briefly discuss your work history and provide an overview of Arctic Wolf. Approximately 30 minutes.

  • Technical assessment: A recruiter sends you a link to a straightforward technical assessment that is relevant to the role you are applying for. Approximately 1 hour.

  • Face-to-face interviews: Several team members conduct two interviews to learn more about you and provide more information about your potential role and team. Be prepared to collaborate on a technical problem and talk more about past projects and your career goals. Approximately 1 hour per interview.
