As a Product Engineer at Micron, you will be part of a forward-thinking team of engineers that solves complex problems, responsible for enabling Micron's products with flawless and issue free release to both internal and external customers. Product Engineers are the key interface between Research and Development, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Quality Assurance departments.
What You Will Be Doing
Product Engineers in the CXL DFT organization are responsible for developing DRAM and future media technology for the CXL platform application. Responsibilities include maximizing the value of CXL media products through quality enhancements, improving the technical understanding of product failures, driving changes to product manufacturing, and driving changes to product testing procedures with a focus on seamless integration of the media technology and the CXL system. Responsibilities will include EFA (electrical failure analysis) to identify unique fail-modes, yield and quality improvements via test coverage enhancements, and collaboration with other PE and design groups to ensure compatibility within the CXL system.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Developing new product test methods and strategies
  • Owning and driving the product test release roadmap
  • Coordinating and communicating product test releases across teams
  • Calibration and validation of product test limits
  • Analyzing the results of experimental product test changes
  • Analyzing a wide variety of research, product, and manufacturing data
  • Developing and implementing device algorithm and trim by die optimizations
  • Assisting in electrical characterization through device schematic and failure model hypotheses
  • Partnering with other stakeholders to discover previously unknown device failure modes
  • Performing electrical failure debug and device function validation through bench analysis in lab environment
  • Performing electrical bench/lab tests to validate the safety, quality, and effectiveness of proposed product test changes
  • Developing and implementing test time reductions to reduce test and production costs
  • Communicating highly technical concepts to engineers of various backgrounds
  • Reporting progress and risks to leadership in a timely manner
  • Completing all required safety training and conducting all work in accordance with Micron safety policies


Education & Experience Necessary for Success
Required: BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Device Physics, or equivalent
Preferred: MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Device Physics, or BS +3 years of semiconductor industry experience
Core Qualifications

  • Knowledge of circuit and layout function and analysis
  • Basic knowledge of DRAM architecture and functionality
  • Knowledge of semiconductor chip functionality (VLSI products)
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex engineering concepts to others of various backgrounds and experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical and physical failure analysis of semiconductors
  • Proven ability in reading semiconductor design schematics and tracing signals in CAD layouts
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot advanced technical problems and address root causes
  • Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills
  • Proven ability in multi-tasking complex projects
  • Proven ability to follow procedures and work with minimal supervision
  • Proven ability to communicate and present highly technical topics
  • PC skills and familiarity with MS Office Word and PowerPoint


Ideal Qualifications

  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing
  • Technical understanding of memory operation and structure (Design, Layout, Process, and Test)
  • Solid engineering and computer programming scripting skills (PERL, Python, C, and C++)
  • Knowledge of statistical software applications, such as JMP
  • Intermediate understanding of data mining and statistical analysis techniques
  • Experience with Ambyx 5/6 platforms and APG test software
