Job Description About CCB Finance Technology
Our Software Engineering Group supports several lines of business within Consumer and Community Banking by providing finance solutions to support profitability reporting, business insights, analytics, regulatory reporting and forecasting. We are a global team with colleagues across several locations in the US and in India and we have plans to expand to more locations in the near future.
Our group is heavily focused on data processing utilizing several different technology stacks and we continually seek to improve our technology environment as part of our ongoing modernization journey. Our modernization plans include executing various on-prem version upgrades (Cloudera/Hadoop, Essbase, etc.), automating manual legacy processes, and migrating to new Data Centers and the public cloud (AWS). Whether you are passionate about Big data (Hadoop, Spark), traditional relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server), AWS, or any of the related toolsets or stacks, you will have the opportunity to also learn about the others.
We are looking for someone who is very strong in at least one of the tech stacks, can help with automation efforts, or has AWS experience, and is willing to learn through our modernization journey together. Candidates that are always curious about technology will find our team primed with lots of opportunities for learning, building out skill sets, and continued growth as a technologist.
Application Team Description - CRA
Within CCB Finance Technology, the Consolidated Reporting Applications (CRA) Team supports the processing and reporting of financials using a bifurcated technology stack: we have one part of the system that was built out over the years on SQL Server and Windows application servers, and a second part that uses Oracle databases and Linux application servers. Both stacks are used in tandem to send data into Essbase cubes, which are then used by a wide audience for various reporting and analytical functions. There is also a Java-based monitoring GUI running on internal cloud that provides various cube load statistics.
At the moment, we are working on modernizing the entire data pipeline by first moving to the latest Essbase version, automating manual legacy processes, and migrating to a new Data Center. In the next year or two, we plan to start migrating our data and workflows, at least partially, into the public cloud (AWS). The successful candidate will play a key role in these efforts.
Required Skills
  • Strong experience with relational enterprise databases (Oracle and/or SQL Server)
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and query optimization concepts (TSQL and/or PL/SQL)
  • Unix shell scripting and/or Windows scripting (PowerShell, Perl, Batch scripts)
  • Creating/maintaining ETL processes (Microsoft SSIS and/or Oracle ETL Scripts)
  • Proficiency in one or more modern programming language (Java, C#, Python)
  • Data analysis and data modeling
  • Process automation design patterns
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets and code management
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
  • Passionate about building an innovative culture
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement
  • BS. or MS. in computer science, information systems, math, business, or engineering

Preferred Skills (not required but would be a plus for this position)
  • Essbase (huge plus) 21C or lower version and Dodeca Excel Add-In
  • Experience in migrating data workflows on-premises to public cloud
  • AWS knowledge/certification (huge plus)
  • Scheduling tools like Autosys or Control M
  • Familiarity with API development experience
  • BI Analytical experience (Tableau, Alteryx)
