Data Engineer - Security - Senior/Lead

Our team builds the foundation for all security analysts and data scientists to be successful at this, and we are looking for a Data Engineer to make a foundational and direct impact in our strategic direction! About you

• Passionate about designing foundational data modeling and schema management. You understand that these are the building blocks for scalable and extensible solutions, with optimal storage and retrieval
• You enjoy delivering cloud data solutions end to end, gathering requirements from stakeholders and translating them into data engineering tasks. You are able to perform data analysis, semantic data modeling, system design and building scalable data pipelines
• You have solid experience building data platforms: designing, configuring, deploying and evolving robust, secure and optimized cloud data solutions to deliver business value to stakeholders
• Experience designing, implementing, driving multi-phased innovative strategies solving data, systems architecture challenges, data ingestion and performance planning
• Effective collaborator, with experience working across teams and functions. You can go from gathering technical requirements, solution proposal, viability assessment (through iterative Proof of Concepts) to launching solutions and working with partners on adoption
• You are a strong communicator with passion to deliver impactful results to stakeholders

Required Skills

• Three (3) or more years performing data engineering and data integration for batch and near real-time pipelines
• 3+ years experience in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years experience programming in Python, Java, Scala or similar
• Extensive data modeling and schema management experience
• Effective collaborator, with proven record working across teams and functions. You can go from gathering technical requirements, solution proposal, viability assessment (through iterative Proof of Concepts) to launching solutions and working with partners on adoption
• Experience with big data pipeline development and large scale data warehousing (Flink, Spark, Kafka)
• ETL/ELT concepts and tools
• Database technologies (Relational, NoSQL) and advanced experience with query languages
• Experience with public cloud services (AWS or Google Cloud Platform or Azure)

Preferred Skills

• API development experience
• Experience working in security teams to streamline analysis and incident response flows
• Experience solving data reliability challenges, improving data quality and automatically detecting data issues
