The Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) team supports the definition, design, and development of the new vehicle intelligence platform that will underpin all our future innovations across a wide range of technological advancements, including EVs and expanded automated driving. This means that you can potentially put a fingerprint on the vehicles that drive down the road! This space is bursting with emerging technical leadership opportunities. You can flex your collaboration muscles as you will be tasked with working with several other areas of engineering, IT, and the business.

The SDV team is looking for a passionate engineer with a strong aptitude for learning to join our team as a Controller Integration Engineer ! This individual will have the opportunity to work on the latest technologies in the Automated Driving and Active Safety Software space, and will be responsible for the integration, test, and issue resolution of controller software at both the vehicle and bench levels for SuperCruise and UltraCruise programs.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Support algorithm teams to develop test cases and execute key behavioral and other build event testing as prescribed, post results, and sign-off work tickets.
  • Verify control module functionality on HIL bench and in-vehicle. Examples Include:
    • Low-level hardware interfaces, serial data programming, message authentication, diagnostics, vehicle electrical interfaces, legislated compliance, vehicle assembly and service tool interfaces, etc.
  • Troubleshoot vehicle level integration issues at the module level (MCU and SoC), including hardware, software, calibration, instrumentation, and vehicle wiring.
  • Support development trips, assembly plant activities, prototype shops, experimental garages, and development fleet and test fleet vehicle activities.
  • Develop experimental software for proposed changes, and perform integration testing with minimal direction of lead engineers.
  • Analyze software defects; determine root cause, create software solution, test and verify and bring issue to closure.
  • Conduct/participate in work product reviews for algorithm, software, and specifications incorporating I/O functional requirements and test cases.
  • Provide documented examples of process, tool, or other improvements in standard work.
  • Work with various cross-functional and global teams in the US, Canada, and Israel to meet project deliverables.
  • Manage and lead multiple projects and assignments with a high level of autonomy and accountability for results.


Additional Description
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Math, Computer Science or a related technical degree
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in the automotive or a related industry
  • Experience working with embedded control systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and effectively with others
  • Possess a valid drivers license with the ability to operate test vehicles


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • 5 years of automotive engineering experience working
  • 2 years of embedded control systems experience
  • Experience with MATLAB, ETAS, CANalyzer, VehicleSpy, Lauterbach, DPS Tool, Eclipse, CarSim, or software code generation
  • Knowledge or experience in control system integration and testing of hardware and software
  • Knowledge of serial data communications (e.g. CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
