Body/Exterior Engineer - Accessories & Structure Service Engineering

CCA's Global Aftersales Engineering organization has responsibility for the service result readiness of every GM vehicle globally. These include: service part release, service information, labor time guide, service part catalog, diagnostic software, service programming, pre-delivery inspection forms, customer service information and special tools. Responsible for efficiently and effectively facilitating the execution of Aftersales Engineering work within their specific function.
We are seeking aspiring engineers to join our aftersales engineering service team. The level of responsibility for the position will be matched with the experience of the team member hired. The person in this role will be responsible for representing Service Engineering during the vehicle development process and partnering with product engineering teams to achieve world class serviceability for Body Structure, Exterior, Closures, Accessories, and/or Collision Repair.

Additional Description
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Automotive Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of Body Structure, Exterior, Closures, Accessories and/or Collision Repair and strives to become a specialized expert
- Knowledge of vehicle development process, design iteration, immersive/virtual engineering systems and proficient with Microsoft Office software
- Works efficiently and effectively cross functionally with individuals and teams to solve a problem or complete a project
- Actively participates in various engineering teams and forums raising concerns and offering feasible solutions
- Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
- Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative working relationships with others
- Seek opportunities for collaborative experiences to help accomplish organizational goals
- Able and willing to learn quickly. Strives for continuous self-improvement through formal and informal learning
- Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GM's core behaviors
Valued Experiences and Skills:
- Automotive service parts experience at the wholesale or retail level
- Manufacturing, vehicle engineering experience
- Solid understanding of automotive service practices and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle systems, GM dealership, or field experience.
- Hands on experience in automotive diagnosis and repair
- High level of oral and written communication skills.
FOR GM INTERNAL CANDIDATES: This role is posted at both the 6th and 7th level. The determination by HR and the Hiring Manager as to whether an offer will be lateral or promotional will be based on a candidate's relevant experience and whether the role will amount to a significant increase in level of responsibility.
