ChenTech custom designs and develops a suite of SaaS applications for the healthcare industry using cutting edge technologies. The Back-end Data Developer will work on the Billing & Clinical Apps teams and will be responsible for application development and coding, unit testing, system support and documentation. The incumbent in this role designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software programming applications and components; supports and/or installs software applications and components; works from written specifications and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and maintains documentation of process flow Come join us!

What you will do to transform healthcare technology:

• Must be able to work unsupervised on multiple tasks at the same time, in different Scrum teams, and communicate well with team members.
• Should have some knowledge of full stack development and object-oriented programing (any Computer Science graduate will likely fit in this category), as database objects and changes made by the candidate will be used/called by application/backend code
• Knowledge of the Atlassian suite of products (Bitbucket/JIRA/CONFLUENCE etc.) or similar tools
• Stay current with technology trends in order to provide best options for solutions
• Self-directed and is able to decompose work into problem sets for self and project team
• Solution-driven thought leadership for affiliated team. Self-motivated with ability to influence associates.
• Able to learn quickly from mistakes, including those of others
• Ability to build and maintain relationships across internal teams and with business stakeholders
• Ability to conduct all interactions in a calm and professional manner. Self-aware with the ability to identify personal development goals.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Proficient in ANSI SQL for use in the following scenarios:
• Scripting (sometimes complex)
• Stored procedure creation and maintenance
• Functions
• Views
• Triggers
• Other SQL-related experience with:
• Exception conditions and handling
• Performance tuning/query optimization
• Understanding indexes, their creation and usage, and their benefits and drawbacks
• MySQL a plus (including MySQL Workbench as development environment)
• Our Clinical Apps team is building and maintaining an OLTP database, we are creating and enhancing tables as well as relationships between tables. Thus, the candidate has to have an understanding of the following:
• Database normalization and relationship cardinality
• Creating and enforcing relationships between tables
• Data modeling and design

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, Software Development, Mathematics or a related field OR additional experience above the minimum will be considered in lieu of the required education on a year-for-year basis required
• A minimum of 4 years' work experience as a software engineer or similar IT role or related field required
