About the job
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for an Associate Manager to join us in Durham, NC. In this role, you will guide processes and procedures to improve the quality, consistency, and automation of releases of the Red Hat Ansible Tower and Red Hat Ansible Galaxy offering. Help define and implement automated software test strategies, methodologies, processes, and procedures.
What you will do

  • Research and recommend test infrastructure tools to support the quality engineering methodology, process, and procedures
  • Work with other Quality Engineering team members to architect and implement automated functional software testing across the Ansible solution set, including Tower and Galaxy
  • Analyze source code and work with development counterparts to propose appropriate test strategies for product subsystems
  • Establish best practices for a variety of team disciplines, including code structure, test architecture, and automation strategy
  • Develop automated software tests in accordance with department policies and processes and establish frameworks for these automated tests
  • Create product-wide test plans and strategies, oversee the work of other quality engineers, and be a resource for technical guidance of the team
  • Participate in and contribute to weekly team meetings
  • Provide an accurate and timely status of testing efforts and quality metrics to the broader project team.
  • Plan and implement testing automation jobs and pipelines using continuous integration (CI)


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field and 5+ years of experience in the job offered or a related role
  • Must have 5+ years of experience writing software test plans, automating software testing, and reviewing products with white box and black box software testing
  • Must have 2+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or OpenShift by Red Hat; virtualization or containers; and Python
  • Must have 1+ year(s) of experience with Ansible; Github, Gitlab, or related collaborative forges and Jenkins or Gitlab Continuous Integration
