ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a critical and growing multi-national FW team that's responsible for developing and integrating firmware from the early concept phase through release to manufacturing
  • Develops, redesigns FW functional strategies and provides clear direction for the long-term technical & business plans
  • Ensure budgets, schedules, and performance standards for FW functional area are realistically set and attained. Hold the entire team accountable for architecture and design tasks to ensure timely, on budget completion of project milestones.
  • Having a great degree of influence over extended Embedded Systems functions, and project teams in technical directions, project schedule and deliverables
  • Innovate new ideas from requirements into technical solutions. Provide guidance to team members on implementing solutions into reliable products.
  • Advise on root cause analysis by analyzing information (criticality, impact). Guide investigations leading to mitigations and solutions. Enhance designs, processes, and tools to reduce future defects.
  • Triage and prioritize issues from on-market products. Collaborate closely with leadership from cross-functional teams to deliver products requested. Communicate issues and status to teams.
  • Enable team members to be more efficient by enhancing remote work capabilities
  • Produce professional documentation and presentations.
  • Recruit and retain excellent developers for the company.



REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSEE, BSCS, or equivalent degree required.
  • 10+ years of experience in developing embedded firmware with hardware integration experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a management position leading large (15+) teams
  • 3+ years of experience using Agile / Scrum development process
  • Technical leadership skills



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Complete product lifecycle experience including early concept work and successful transfer of designs into manufacturing.
  • Experience with electrical components such as ADC, DAC, Stepper & DC motors, Image sensors, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, USB, CAN.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP network protocols and programming of network servers and clients.
  • Experience with the GNU software development toolchain including gcc, binutils, and gnumake.
  • Use of source code management (SCM) tools (Git, Perforce, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Linux as a desktop/development environment.
  • *nix Scripting languages such as Bash, Python, TCL.
