Job Description DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Analyze, design, develop and implement shell scripts for automating critical application workflows to meet business requirements in a timely manner. Drive the design discussions for the source code management architecture of application code and integrate automated functional testing, automated performance testing and automated regression testing with code. Design, develop and maintain continuous deployment pipeline for Cobol and Java language applications in Mainframe zOS environment. Install and upgrade to Docker - swarm as a container mode to Docker swarm-as-a- service for automated orchestration of the containers. Set up Kubernetes with Docker to assist with auto- scaling, continuous integration, rolling software updates with no downtime. Deploy and guide a load balanced master-slave configuration of Jenkins. Provide support for deploying the application code to production and resolve priority issues after the releases. Analyze, design, develop and implement the Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for cloud hosted applications. Leverage modern coding practices, to include Groovy, Python, PowerShell, Korn and Bash shells, to drive tools including Maven, Gradle and Ant when integrated as part of a CI/CD pipeline. Integrate Sonarqube, synk, fortify scanning tools with CI process to improve the code-quality. Apply the Ansible Python API to automate routine tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science, any science or engineering field with substantial computational or quantitative studies, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in job offered or five (5) years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's and three (3) years of experience in lieu of the Bachelor's and five (5) years of experience.
Skills Required: This position requires experience in the following: CI and CD tools such as GIT/Bitbucket, Subversion, Maven, Gradle, Ant, MSBuild, or Jenkins; Scripting languages such as Groovy, Bash, Perl, or PowerShell; Container Platforms and Technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad, Mesos or related ecosystem tooling; Cloud Native, PaaS services and Cloud Architectures for AWS, Azure or Google Cloud platforms; Relational SQL or no-sql database technologies like Oracle, HBase, Cassandra, SparkQL, SQL, ODBC, JDBC, Hive, Impala or ElasticSearch; CI/CD with mainframe engineering best practices including analyzing, designing, developing, and deploying and supporting software solutions in zOS Mainframe systems; programming using Java, Javascript, Python, .Net, or C++; and Amazon Web Services and cloud deployment tools such as Spinnaker.
