About the job
The Red Hat Healthcare Services Consulting team is looking for a Senior Application Development Architect to join our growing vertical. In this role, you will lead the design and development of applications that scale to the demands of the modern digital marketplace. You will represent Red Hat as the leading provider of cloud and container technologies, automation, and modern application development techniques. You will lead collaborative efforts with our healthcare customers and Red Hat consulting teams to build, test, and iterate over innovative applications, and implement migration and modernization strategies. You'll contribute towards customer success on project-based engagements by helping modernize the people, process, and technological capabilities of their organization. As a Senior Application Development Architect will also play a critical role in supporting the Red Hat Healthcare Services Solutions team by bringing together cross-functional teams from Red Hat's product business units, product engineering, support, professional services, and sales, to meet the needs of our most demanding customers. You will serve as a customer advocate with these organizations to architect the right solutions and to ensure that those solutions are implemented and supported in an innovative and reliable way, taking into consideration healthcare industry concerns and promoting consistency in customer delivery. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Attain in-depth knowledge of Red Hat Application Services technologies and be able to architect them for cloud native solutions
  • Architect enterprise application solutions to meet unique requirements of Red Hat's most key healthcare customers
  • Lead the design and implementation of applications, using modern application development practices and open source emerging technologies including microservices, integration, cloud native architectures, continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), automation, and more
  • Work closely with product business, product engineering, support, and sales teams to ensure an excellent customer experience with Red Hat's solutions
  • Communicate comprehensive strategic vision for solutions to application teams and customers
  • Contribute lessons learned, best practices, and how-tos to our internal and external communities of practice
  • Develop standard frameworks and methodologies to allow for repeatable Red Hat application development projects
  • Lead scoping and presales conversations for Red Hat consulting services with our customers
  • Work closely with dedicated enterprise application sales specialists and territory services managers to identify key accounts, assist in the creation of account plans, and act on those plans
  • Become a trusted adviser to senior IT and business executives within key accounts with the goal of creating long-term partnerships with customers


What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related technology discipline
  • 6+ years of experience working in a solutions architect or enterprise architect role with enterprise applications
  • Healthcare industry domain and regulation experience like General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Patient Data Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) data model, etc.
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise software solutions within the healthcare industry
  • Record of working as a strategic adviser to senior IT and business executives
  • Broad and deep technical experience with enterprise middleware and application technologies like Red Hat Application Services, e.g., integration, runtimes, and process automation, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, etc.
  • Experience parsing business problems and applying appropriate enterprise architecture patterns like domain logic representation, concurrency and distributed systems, data model design, state management, and resiliency, and integration patterns like message routing, construction, and translation, to provide solutions that meet requirements and scale
  • Solid background in consultative customer engagement with a major professional services organization or within the services division of a major software company
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English, including extensive experience presenting to C-level executives at large companies
  • Proven ability to work seamlessly with global, cross-functional teams to achieve success for customers
  • Agile and The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certifications are a plus
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
