The Engineer performs general maintenance and repair duties in support of a 24/7 casino operation. This position assists with inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of building systems and equipment, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and life safety systems. This position works under the direction of the Engineering Manager and supports Engineers, Contractors, and the Facilities Coordinator to ensure reliable and efficient facility operations. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. This position will directly report to the Engineering Manager.
Essential Functions:- Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino's culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
- Perform general building maintenance tasks including plumbing repairs, lighting replacements, equipment troubleshooting, and minor carpentry or painting.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks and inspections according to CMMS schedules.
- Respond to service calls during assigned shift and resolve guest-facing issues promptly.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs of facility systems; escalate complex issues as needed.
- Support tasks involving HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems, depending on individual trade experience.
- Operate hand and power tools, ladders, diagnostic devices, and CMMS-enabled tablets.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance carts, shops, and storage areas.
- Accurately document work orders, labor time, and materials used in the CMMS.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal departments during system shutdowns and repairs.
- Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout, confined space, PPE, and hazard protocols.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.
- Working knowledge of building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Skilled in safe use of hand tools, ladders, lifts, and diagnostic equipment.
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Proficient in or willing to learn CMMS platforms for work order management and preventive maintenance tracking.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in facility maintenance, a skilled trade, or related commercial or hospitality environment required, or three (3) years of casino engineering or maintenance experience.
- Valid California driver's license and insurability required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
- Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions.
- Ability to sit, stand or walk for the duration of their shift.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb ladders and stairs.
- Frequent use of hands, wrists, arms, and shoulders.
- Work involves exposure to mechanical equipment, tools, and casino environmental conditions.
Work is typically performed in areas that may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, or contain second-hand smoke. Tasks may occur in confined spaces such as crawlspaces or attics, as well as elevated locations such as catwalks and rooftops. Work is frequently performed from a non-sitting position and involves physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, crawling, and grasping. These activities support the maintenance and care of assigned areas. Work may involve trained use of chemicals, and protective equipment must be worn as required. Constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests is expected.

What We Do
North Fork Mono Casino & Resort is a new entertainment destination opening in Fall 2026 in Madera, California, on Highway 99. The resort will feature over 2,400 slot machines, 40 table games, and eight dining options, including two full-service restaurants and six quick-serve venues, serving as a hub for gaming and hospitality in the Central Valley.
