Mechanical Design Engineer
Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team and help turn ideas into real-world engineering solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys designing, building, testing, and improving mechanical systems — from individual components and assemblies to robotics, automation, test equipment, and simulation.
You will work closely with engineers, technicians, and customers to develop practical, manufacturable designs and bring concepts from the initial idea through CAD design, prototyping, testing, and final implementation.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are curious, hands-on, and passionate about mechanical design, with a desire to learn, experiment, and solve challenging engineering problems.
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, machinery, robotics, and test equipment from concept through production.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, layouts, and manufacturing drawings.
- Develop and evaluate design concepts with a focus on functionality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, maintainability, and performance.
- Support the development of robotic and automated systems, including mechanical mechanisms and motion-related solutions.
- Use engineering simulation and analysis tools where appropriate to validate and improve designs.
- Identify high-risk mechanisms and develop prototypes and proof-of-concept solutions to validate ideas.
- Participate in the assembly, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of equipment and prototypes.
- Modify and improve existing designs to resolve functional, manufacturing, or performance issues.
- Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure designs are practical and production-ready.
- Participate in and present at internal and customer-facing design reviews.
- Contribute ideas for new products, processes, automation, and engineering improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Previous experience in mechanical design, CAD, robotics, automation, or simulation is an advantage.
- Strong interest and enthusiasm for mechanical design and engineering innovation.
- Experience with 3D CAD software and technical drawing is preferred.
- An interest in robotics, mechanisms, automation, and engineering simulation is highly valued.
- A practical, hands-on approach to engineering, with an enthusiasm for building and testing ideas.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop creative yet practical engineering solutions.
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work effectively within a collaborative team.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Meticulous and methodical approach to design, with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a dynamic, project-driven engineering environment.
- Demonstrated drive, curiosity, energy, and enthusiasm for learning, designing, and solving challenging engineering problems.
What We’re Looking For
Beyond qualifications and experience, we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys engineering and design — someone who sees a problem and wants to understand how to make it work better.
Whether you have experience in industry or are an ambitious engineer looking to develop your skills, we value creativity, initiative, technical curiosity, and a passion for turning concepts into working solutions.
