Job Summary
As a Yield Enhancement Laboratory Engineer, you will be at the forefront of solving the most challenging yield and technology issues for Micron's advanced memory products. Working on leading-edge technologies, you will investigate complex electrical and physical failure mechanisms, transform analytical findings into actionable yield improvements, and contribute directly to technology development and manufacturing excellence.
You will have the opportunity to leverage state-of-the-art failure analysis techniques and advanced laboratory capabilities while developing deep expertise in semiconductor devices, process technology, and memory product architecture.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Investigate and solve complex yield, quality, and technology challenges through advanced electrical and physical failure analysis.
- Perform fault isolation and failure characterization using industry-leading analytical techniques, including EMMI, OBIRCH, Thermal Analysis, SEM, FIB, TEM, nanoprobing, and related methodologies to identify failure mechanisms and drive rapid yield learning.
- Apply knowledge of semiconductor device physics, circuit behavior, and manufacturing processes to establish root causes and enable effective process and design improvements.
- Partner with Product Engineering, Design, Yield Enhancement, Process Engineering, and R&D teams to identify design marginalities, process interactions, and technology limitations impacting product performance.
- Generate innovative solutions and develop new analytical methodologies to address emerging challenges in advanced memory technologies.
- Support new technology introduction, yield ramp , product qualification , and high-volume manufacturing by providing timely and accurate technical insights.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance analytical capability, cycle time, productivity, and engineering effectiveness.
- Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
- Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying , testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering or Science is required
- Candidates with approximately 3- 5 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communicator, able to collaborate across all levels
- Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning
- Knowledge of semiconductor devices, device physics, electronics, and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with electrical and physical failure analysis techniques and analytical tools such as EMMI/OBIRCH/Thermal , SEM, FIB, TEM, nanoprobing, or related methodologies is advantageous .
- Demonstrated leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable
- Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferred.
- Flexible to support shift-based operations in a manufacturing environment when required.
- Ability to apply baseline digital fluency and role - appropriate AI literacy to use AI - enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, content creation, problem - solving, operational tasks, and achieving business outcomes .
