NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Engineer, Vehicle Systems based in Concord, NC.
The Engineer, Vehicle Systems is responsible for supporting NASCAR's vehicle systems department. Responsibilities include but not limited to computer aided design tasks, vendor support, quality control procedures, testing and validation of systems, and development of detailed bill of materials for systems.
Duties include but are not limited to:

Use of computer aided design (CAD) tools for model creation, generation of drawings, exploration of parts and assemblies, and supporting documentation for NASCAR rules.

Development of quality control procedures and data workflow for vendors to report into NASCAR for vehicle projects.

Documentation and maintenance of detailed bill of materials (BOM) for vehicle projects.

Support functions for vendors including but limited to drawing review, quality control procedure documentation, part numbering best practices, engineering change notifications, fault reporting and follow up.

Compose formal reports containing test descriptions and results.

Develop and deliver presentations to internal and external stakeholders concerning vehicle systems.

Approximately 30% travel required including some weekends
Required skills / experience:
-
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficient on company provided hardware and software. CAD software experience (CATIA preferred) is a plus. CAE software experience (structural analysis, mechanism analysis, etc) is a plus.

Must have effective reading, writing, and communication skills and be able to work well independently or as part of a team.

Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Must be a team player who likes working as part of a team, a good listener who is open-minded and flexible, and an innovative thinker with strong critical decision making skills and strong technical skills.
