Engineer (Tools) - NBA 2K

What We Need:

We’re seeking a Tools Engineer to join the NBA 2K team in Novato, CA! Most of the tools are written in C# using WPF and Winforms with the game engine used for rendering. This role will report into the Lead Software Engineer.

 What You Will Do:

• Develop deep, high-quality interactive tools used by all teams of game development for the creation, visualization, integration, release and testing of game content
• Focus on developing and maintaining custom tools to support our art team in their development of NBA 2K’s environments, graphical user interface, animations, and characters
• Diagnose and solve problems quickly and independently
• Working directly with team members to improve the tools that they use by adding new features
• User interface design, as well as C# and C++ coding will be important parts of your daily work

 Who Will Be A Great Fit:

• Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in Computer Science
• At least 2+ years of proven experience in the video games industry
• Strong C++ & C# and Python skills
• Able to write clean, bug free, well-documented and efficient code
• Experience in art and/or artist tools development
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Love for video games (not just ours!)

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $105,705 and $135,900 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
