Position Description:

Wade Trim is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern for our Construction group in our Atlanta office. Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, construction engineering or concrete technology (sophomore or junior status preferred) and possess valid driver’s license. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required. Candidates must be self-motivated, very organized and have excellent communication skills.

Typical responsibilities include:

    • Interpret project plans and specifications
    • Conduct field inspections and maintain work item quantities
    • Conduct field or laboratory material test
    • Maintain project files and record drawings
    • Prepare construction reports
    • Perform soil erosion control and sediment control inspections
    • Review technical data for adherence with project requirements
    • Assist with preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
    • Assist with/review scope, budget and schedule of new project tasks
    • Monitor task budget and progress
    • Prepare project status and other reports
    • Assist in the preparation of proposals
    • Assist Project Managers 
    • Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, preconstruction, etc. 
    • Attend seminars and/or training classes
    • Maintain excellent client relations
    • Maintain a safe working environment

Education:

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Construction Engineering or Concrete Technology.

Skills/Experience:

    • Valid Driver’s License
