About Eos Energy Enterprises
Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc. is accelerating the shift to American energy independence with positively ingenious solutions that transform how the world stores power. Our breakthrough Znyth™ aqueous zinc battery was designed to overcome the limitations of conventional lithium-ion technology. It is safe, scalable, efficient, sustainable, manufactured in the U.S., and the core of our innovative systems that today provides utility, industrial, and commercial customers with a proven, reliable energy storage alternative for 3 to 12-hour applications. Eos was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Edison, New Jersey. For more information about Eos (NASDAQ: EOSE), visit eose.com.
About the Role
The Senior Power Systems Modeling Engineer leads the development, validation, and deployment of advanced electrical grid models that capture the behavior of utility‑scale and distributed storage assets.
Responsibilities
Build and validate steady‑state, dynamic, and EMT models of battery energy storage systems, power electronic converters including inverter‑based resources in grid forming / grid following modes, plant controllers, rotating machines and other power system components like transformers, power factor correction equipment etc.
Conduct interconnection studies for BESS projects: load flow, short‑circuit, transient stability, protection coordination, and harmonic analysis.
Evaluate BESS performance under grid disturbances, including frequency response, voltage support, ride‑through, and black‑start capabilities.
Model and analyze BESS control strategies, including active/reactive power control, droop control, state‑of‑charge management, and hybrid plant coordination (e.g. solar + storage).
Assess impacts of BESS on system stability, congestion, hosting capacity, and renewable integration.
Support development and validation of plant‑level controllers, including AGC participation, grid‑forming controls, and advanced inverter functions
Lead creation of modeling pipelines that integrate SCADA, GIS, EMS, and OEM data into simulation environments.
Develop automation scripts in Python, MATLAB, or C# to streamline model validation, scenario generation, and reporting.
Troubleshoot complex model behavior and ensure alignment with IEEE, IEC, UL 9540/9540A, and regional interconnection requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency with PSCAD, PSS®E, PSLF, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or equivalent simulation tools.
Strong understanding of inverter controls, dynamic stability, EMT phenomena, and grid‑code compliance.
Programming experience in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages for automation and data processing
Experience with grid forming inverter modeling and advanced control strategies.
Familiarity with NERC PRC standards, FERC Order 841/2222 implications, and ISO/RTO interconnection processes.
Knowledge of hybrid plant modeling (solar + storage, wind + storage).
Experience working with BESS OEMs, EPCs, or utilities on model validation and commissioning.

Working Conditions
Office Environment - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. May be required to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Factory - The worker may be subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, vibration, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to temperature changes or exposure to chemicals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, odors, dust, mists, and gases. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and lab coats. May be required to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Customer/Partner Locations – Employee may visit customer or partner locations that may be comprised of office, manufacturing floor, laboratory environments and construction sites depending on the location and reason for visit.
