Software Quality Engineer
Responsibilities:
The selected Software QA Engineer will join a world-class software team to plan, manage, execute, and report results for all qualification activities for the team. He/She will be an effective team player and leader that will be responsible for the quality of all released products. He/She will be a strong process advocate with an acute attention to detail and desire to continually improve the Qualification process. He/She must be able to partner with other functional teams to resolve quality issues quickly.
Responsibilities:
The selected Software QA Engineer will join a world-class software team to architect, implement, and scale test automation solutions that drive quality across KLA products. They will be a technically strong individual contributor and leader, responsible for building AI-augmented automation frameworks that ensure the reliability of all released products. They will champion modern testing practices with a sharp focus on automation coverage, infrastructure excellence, and continuous improvement of the qualification process. They must be able to partner with cross-functional teams globally to resolve quality issues quickly.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Identify, evaluate, and implement test automation frameworks and tools that deliver measurable value across the qualification lifecycle — including functional, regression, performance, and reliability testing.
- Own and drive automated test coverage for both UI and API layers across KLA products, designing robust test suites and publishing results, recommendations, and best known methods.
- Integrate AI capabilities into the test automation framework — including self-healing locators, intelligent test generation, and autonomous test execution — to improve test resilience and reduce maintenance overhead.
- Leverage deep knowledge of software systems and application architecture to design scalable infrastructure solutions that empower the test automation team.
- Assess automation feasibility of test cases and script them for automatic execution across new and existing product features.
- Technically interact with Algorithms, System Engineering, Application Engineering, Marketing and Manufacturing, and Customer Support teams across global locations for various requirements.
- Participate in all stages of software development including deployment and troubleshooting at customer sites. Represent the SQE team in product lifecycle and key program meetings.
- Travel to customer fabrication facilities to understand customer use cases, deploy software, and troubleshoot.

Software Quality Engineering (SQE) is a functional organization in KLA’s Central engineering group which serves all wafer inspection products in qualifying the products and qualifying to release the differentiated products to help our customers.
SQE is seeking Product qualification engineers in our Chennai, India campus to enhance our Quality team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

- Background in IC processing or semiconductor equipment is a plus
