Who You Are
In this role as an Engineer for our Sealant Application group, you will be responsible for designing and implementing process-driven, innovative sealant and adhesive application solutions to meet the expectations of FANUC America customers. The Engineer will perform process engineering analysis and feasibility studies of sealer automation equipment required for the release of customer quotations and will execute FANUC’s sealer and adhesive systems business requirements by utilizing the information obtained to meet customer needs and expectations in the field.
The ideal candidate is a customer-focused problem-solver who enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams and has experience with paint process, paint robot programming, and ideally, FANUC America robots.
How It’s Done
- Perform process evaluations, feasibility studies, and proposal support prior to the release of quotations
- Design and implement processes using robots, and a wide variety of applicator products
- Perform project process execution upon receipt of order
- Perform customer demonstrations and develop accurate analysis and presentation materials on the results of demonstrations
- Create and program various offline simulations of sealer automation systems
- Serve as the primary point of contact to customers during system launches, which could include up to 80% travel
- Provide support with training less-experienced engineers within the group
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related technical engineering discipline or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum three years of experience with industry machine vision systems such as Fanuc iRVision, Liberty Reach, and Matrox
- Prior experience with process engineering and an understanding of what is required to make a process work
- Experience with sealant and adhesive application & equipment and pumping & fluid delivery/control equipment
- Experience with Fanuc M710 and M20 series Robots typically used in sealer processes
- Familiarity with Fanuc offline Roboguide Software such as HandlingPRO and PaintPRO
- Familiarity with DCS (Dual Check Safety) and other various industrial safety systems
What Would Be Even Better
- Master’s Degree in related technical field
- Minimum five years of experience with Sealant and Adhesive Application & equipment
- Experience with FANUC ISD and IPS dispensers
- Ability to speak multiple languages
- Experienced in robot programming specifically with FANUC Robots
- Experience in launching robot systems at customer facilities
