Description
The Hotel Engineer is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s physical facilities, equipment, guest rooms, and public areas to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and associates. This position performs preventative and corrective maintenance, responds promptly to guest and operational maintenance requests, completes work orders through the hotel’s maintenance system, and assists with inspections, repairs, and routine property walks. The Hotel Engineer works closely with the Chief Engineer and hotel leadership to maintain brand standards, life-safety requirements, and overall property appearance while providing professional and courteous service to guests and associates.
Requirements
- Previous hotel engineering or maintenance experience required
- Strong preference for candidates with hotel-specific maintenance experience
- Experience working in historic buildings is a plus
- Luxury hotel engineering experience is a significant advantage (“plus plus”)
- Knowledge of basic systems, including:
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- HVAC
- Carpentry
- Mechanical systems
- Ability to:
- Troubleshoot equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Safely use hand and power tools
