As an R&D Engineer, you will contribute to design, prototyping, testing, and documentation activities across the product lifecycle, while partnering with cross-functional teams to support project execution. Responsibilities include applying design controls and supporting product development activities under guidance while building foundational engineering knowledge.
What you will do
- Support the design, development, modification, and verification of medical device components and systems under supervision
- Assist in building prototypes and performing bench testing to evaluate product performance
- Conduct root cause analysis and evaluate potential solutions against defined requirements
- Perform research and technical studies to support product design decisions
- Interpret customer needs and translate them into defined design inputs
- Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files, in compliance with design control procedures
- Apply industry standards, regulatory requirements, and test strategies in design and development activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to support project deliverables
What you will need
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related engineering field
- 0+ years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of engineering principles, design methods, and development processes
- Experience with CAD or CAE tools for design and concept generation
- Knowledge of analysis tools and statistical methods
- Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
- Exposure to engineering work in a regulated environment (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace)
