Engineer, Research & Development

As an R&D Engineer, you will contribute to design, prototyping, testing, and documentation activities across the product lifecycle, while partnering with cross-functional teams to support project execution. Responsibilities include applying design controls and supporting product development activities under guidance while building foundational engineering knowledge.

What you will do

  • Support the design, development, modification, and verification of medical device components and systems under supervision
  • Assist in building prototypes and performing bench testing to evaluate product performance
  • Conduct root cause analysis and evaluate potential solutions against defined requirements
  • Perform research and technical studies to support product design decisions
  • Interpret customer needs and translate them into defined design inputs
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files, in compliance with design control procedures
  • Apply industry standards, regulatory requirements, and test strategies in design and development activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to support project deliverables

What you will need

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related engineering field
  • 0+ years of experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of engineering principles, design methods, and development processes
  • Experience with CAD or CAE tools for design and concept generation
  • Knowledge of analysis tools and statistical methods
  • Understanding of materials and manufacturing processes
  • Exposure to engineering work in a regulated environment (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace)
