Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented R&D Engineer focused on developing innovative solutions in the areas of Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN), virtual machines, and edge computing and security to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering and a passion for cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Development

  • Design, develop, and prototype SD-WAN solutions and edge computing applications that meet customer needs and industry standards
  • Collaborate with network architects to implement and optimize network infrastructure, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Work with virtual machine environments, including setup, configuration, and management of VMs to support SD-WAN and edge computing solutions.

Testing & Validation

  • Develop testing protocols to validate performance, reliability, and security of R&D projects. Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Develop automation to automate testing and validation of new products
  • Develop automation to allow regression testing of products after updates and changes.

Process and Documentation

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Develop operational processes such as installation and maintenance procedures for new products

Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide support for escalations related to new products
  • Root cause analysis to identify why escalations occur and provide updates to processes and procedures to improve quality of the product and minimize escalations
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues, working with vendors and other teams as necessary.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with other cross functional teams, including network operations, security, products, sales, and infrastructure, to align on organizational goals and deliverables.
  • Communicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in network planning and strategy meetings.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Keep up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in SD-WAN, edge computing, and networking.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements and propose solutions to enhance performance and reliability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field;
  • Proven experience in network engineering, particularly with SD-WAN technologies.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) and cloud computing concepts.
  • Experience with edge computing architecture and deployment.
  • Proficient in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Go) for automation and development tasks.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and network security principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in English.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on SD-WAN technologies.
  • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
