Department Prime Responsibility
- Test samples receipt
- To perform mechanical tests in laboratory as per internal and external standards
- To prepare samples for microstructure analysis tests (Cutting, Mounting, polishing, etching)
- Microstructure analysis of products (General Microstructure, Grain Size, %Fe, Inclusion etc)
- Concentration checking of various water, acid & alkaline
- Test report preparation of all lab tests
- Test results entry in PPC system for 3.1 MTC
- Execution of Retesting, Replicate Test, IMC, ILC & participation in PT as per ISO/IEC 17025 guideline
- Ensuring safety and 5S within work area as per company guidelines
- Inform superior in case any abnormality observed during sample preparation, testing etc.
- Reports to QM, TM & Lab In charge for mechanical & corrosion tests
Flexibility in Below activities
- Coordinating Third party inspection and its associated activities
- Preparation of Product Test certificate and verification (3.2 MTC & IBR Form IIIA & IIIB)
- Daily heat treatment records verification
- Distribution of QAP, Procedures, Work instructions and monthly graph’s hard copies at shop floor
- Incoming inspection & PDC process
- EHS Responsibility
- Follow EHS guidelines and procedures, reporting hazards and potential improvement areas and participating to improve their work environment.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Sample preparation, mechanical testing & metallography testing
- Able to perform the testing according to work instructions
- Handling and use of measuring instruments
- Awareness about Quality management system (ISO 9001:2015 & ISO / IEC 17025:2017)
- Fair knowledge about tube manufacturing and related product requirements.
- Knowledge about material and its standards for steel / tube products.
- MS Office proficiency

Education
Diploma or BE Metallurgy Engineering
