The Senior Professional shall have a technical/engineering related university degree with not less than Ten (10) years’ experience in the required field of expertise for similar projects

We are looking for an experienced QA/QC Engineer to join a major rail infrastructure programme in the UAE. As a Senior Professional in the project management team, you will oversee quality assurance and quality control across design, construction, and testing and commissioning, making sure all works meet contract requirements, specifications and applicable standards. The role involves close coordination with contractors, designers and the client. It suits a candidate who can hold contractors to account while supporting timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approve contractor quality documents, including Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), method statements and quality procedures
• Monitor contractor compliance with the approved quality management system, contract specifications and relevant international standards
• Plan and carry out quality audits and surveillance of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and track corrective actions to close-out
• Witness and verify inspections, tests and hold/witness points on site and at factory acceptance tests (FAT)
• Review material and equipment submittals, test certificates and conformance documentation
• Raise, track and close non-conformance reports (NCRs), and analyse root causes to prevent recurrence
• Oversee quality records, including inspection requests, test results and as-built documentation, making sure they are complete and traceable for handover
• Support testing and commissioning activities, and verify that quality documentation is complete for system acceptance
• Prepare periodic quality reports and KPIs for project management and the client
• Lead quality coordination meetings and promote a quality-focused culture among all project stakeholders

Minimum Requirements

• Technical or engineering university degree
• At least 10 years' experience in QA/QC on similar projects
• Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and quality audit practice
• Proven experience reviewing ITPs, method statements and material submittals, and managing NCRs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Desirable

• QA/QC experience on rail or metro projects (civils, track, or railway systems such as signalling, power and communications)
• Experience in a PMC, consultant or client-side role
• Middle East experience, particularly in the UAE
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification
• Familiarity with rail standards such as EN 50126/50128/50129 (RAMS) and with FIDIC contracts
• Experience with testing and commissioning and system handover on major infrastructure projects

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or a related Engineering discipline
• Professional certification or membership (e.g. CQI/IRCA, ASQ) is an advantage
