Key Responsibilities
1. Incoming Quality Assurance
- Perform timely inspection, evaluation, and decision-making on incoming lots to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Execute incoming inspection as per defined test plans and inspection standards.
- Release MRNs (Material Receipt Notes) in SAP and assign appropriate lot disposition (OK / Rejection / Hold).
- Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using standard measuring instruments.
- Ensure adherence to inspection plans, SAP entries, and quality documentation.
2. Supplier Quality Management
- Drive supplier quality performance to achieve reduction in QPN (Quality Problem Notification) and PPM.
- Communicate quality issues to suppliers and ensure timely closure via SAP.
- Monitor supplier corrective actions, including 8D quality reports and effectiveness.
- Visit suppliers to drive continuous improvement and process compliance.
- Manage rejection communication, NCM (Non-Conformance Management), and supplier escalation.
3. Compliance & Process Assurance
- Ensure parts meet specifications including CSR, PPAP, Annual Layout Inspection, MTC, SST, ES/MS tests, etc.
- Develop and maintain Quality Management Records (QIR) and Inspection Plans in SAP.
- Ensure smooth transition of parts from development stage to serial production.
- Conduct yearly requalification including SPC, material testing, and dimensional verification.
- Ensure adherence to defined processes across commodities (Rubber, Sheet Metal, Cable, Turning, etc.).
4. Non-Conformance & Problem Solving
- Block stock in case of deviations and initiate containment actions (100% inspection where required).
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, Root Cause Analysis).
- Support OEM approvals for deviations and part acceptance.
- Monitor effectiveness of containment and corrective actions.
5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor ~Incoming lots monthly via SAP and ensure timely clearance.
- Manage quality performance across suppliers and child parts.
- Maintain supplier performance dashboards (Paynter charts, 8D score tracking).
- Drive reduction in customer complaints related to child parts.
6. Financial & Operational Controls
- Prepare and process supplier debit notes for quality issues.
- Monitor improved shipments post corrective action implementation.
- Ensure cost of poor quality (COPQ) reduction through preventive measures.
7. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Strong collaboration with:
- QMP / QMPP / QKAM
- Project Management
- R&D
- Production
- Industrial Engineering (IE)
- Maintenance
- SCM / AP / Quality Lab
- Maintain effective communication with OEM customers for quality matters.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Production / Industrial or related field)
- 3–7 years of experience in Supplier Quality / SQA / Incoming Inspection / Process Quality / Customer Quality
- Experience in automotive or manufacturing industry preferred
- Hands-on experience with SAP QM and inspection tools
