Job Description:

Role Purpose:

  • Interface between construction and engineering teams

  • Lead process design and troubleshooting during construction & commissioning

  • Support construction contractor’s activities on site

  • Ensure effective communication between construction and other teams

  • Resolve construction related issued in a timely manner

  • Improve construction productivity

Responsibilities:

  • Lead process design, troubleshooting, and new equipment installation projects from conception to completion, ensuring projects are on time and within budget.

  • Provide technical support to production teams, conduct investigations into equipment failures or quality issues, and implement corrective/preventive actions

  • Collaborate with R&D, maintenance, quality assurance, and manufacturing operations to ensure smooth production flow and align with quality standards.

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed process documentation, including SOPs, Work Instructions, P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams), and process flow diagrams

  • Ensure timely resolution of identified design discrepancies to protect quality and schedule

  • Participate in quality inspections of key equipment items

  • Provide technical support and interpretation of design documents to contractors during construction by liaising with Engineering and Operations

  • Provide site support for Engineering activities

  • Ensure quality of construction work, participate in inspections and quality tests

  • Ensure good housekeeping to ensure safe working environment by enforcing procedures and rules

  • Make recommendations regarding solutions to construction issues

  • Liaise with Operations on practical site-specific issues such as tie-in points, shutdown windows for construction activities, access to site services, laydown areas

  • Actively manage interfaces between contractors to ensure smooth handover of work fronts

  • Develop and provide technical handover documentation to operations management team upon completion of equipment commissioning

  • Do site observations to improve construction productivity

About you:

  • 5 years + of experience in construction in the chemical or mining industries preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, industrial, or mechanical engineering

  • Proficiency in process simulation software, AutoCAD, and data analysis tools

  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP specifically) preferred.

  • English – proficient verbal & writing
