Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Engineer Systems / Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
**This role may be filled at either the Engineer Systems or Principal Engineer Systems Architect Level, based on qualifications listed below**
The individual will work with the Solution Train Engineer and Feature Definition lead to decompose and define Training Capabilities. The candidate should have experience in utilizing Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools or experience in Agile Principles. The individual must have a firm understanding of traditional systems engineering concepts and methodologies and must be able to apply and adjust these concepts and methodologies to an accelerated process in the early stages of the capability definition. We are looking for innovative thinkers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable with multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, giving verbal presentations, and self-educating without direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in architecture definition and complex system problem solving in support of training systems.
- Design, develop, and document systems that contain logical solutions using Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Collaborate with the Solution Train Architect and Feature Definition lead to build out Systems Engineering artifacts in support of standards development for incorporation into training systems.
- Generate and present material to support internal and external customer briefings.
Basic Qualifications (Engineer Systems Architect):
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 year of related professional/military experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company.
- Must have experience with Atlassian Tool Suite.
- Must have experience developing model-based systems engineering products.
