We are currently seeking a Manager - Planning, to join our team based in MMY Dahej, Gujarat.

Job Purpose:

The role is responsible for developing, monitoring, and controlling project schedules and execution plans for modular manufacturing yard activities, ensuring project milestones are achieved on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have strong planning and coordination skills, experience in fabrication / modular manufacturing environments, and good knowledge of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, heaters, and related fabricated equipment.

Job Role:

Project Planning and Scheduling

  • Understand project specifications and develop time schedules and execution plans accordingly.
  • Prepare detailed planning schedules for fabrication, assembly, testing, dispatch, and related yard activities.
  • Develop and maintain baseline schedules in line with contractual requirements and project milestones.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly look-ahead schedules for effective execution control.
  • Update schedules based on actual progress and changing project conditions.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting

  • Monitor and track project progress against baseline schedules.
  • Collect progress data from production, engineering, procurement, quality, and logistics teams.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports and planning dashboards.
  • Identify delays, bottlenecks, and critical path activities, and highlight them to management.
  • Support forecast completion date reporting and schedule recovery planning.

Coordination and Team Interaction

  • Communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and project team members.
  • Attend and schedule project review meetings as required.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.
  • Delegate planning-related tasks where needed and ensure timely feedback and follow-up.

Contract and Commercial Support

  • Understand and ensure compliance with contract requirements and project obligations.
  • Support estimation of material quantities, manhours, and planning inputs based on technical drawings.
  • Assist in analyzing project budgets, resource requirements, and schedule impacts.
  • Negotiate with vendors and contractors, where applicable, to secure best value and project alignment.

Technical Review and Analysis

  • Analyze technical drawings and project documentation to support planning and execution.
  • Provide material and cost estimates based on engineering and fabrication requirements.
  • Observe existing processes, review team performance, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Support efficient workflow planning for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, heaters, and other modular equipment.

Time, Cost, and Resource Control

  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor resource deployment and support optimization of manpower, materials, and equipment.
  • Highlight constraints that may affect delivery timelines or cost performance.
  • Assist in implementing corrective actions for deviations from planned targets.

  • B. Tech / Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8-15 years of experience in planning or related field. 
  • Good knowledge of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, heaters, and related fabrication items
  • Strong understanding of planning requirements in a modular fabrication / manufacturing yard environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office & Primavera (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under deadlines 

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to modular fabrication yard operations
  • Experience in fabrication projects
  • Knowledge of project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Understanding of fabrication sequence, material flow, and dispatch planning
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project documents
