The Job:  

As an Engineer, you’ll be part of our Tools & Outdoor team and will be working as a Hybrid employee.    You’re a strong problem solver who loves digging into the details to fully understand what is going on.  You have fixed a lot of problems, so you know how sort out what is meaningful and what is not to be as efficient as possible. You have run DOE’s and done the statistics to make well informed decisions.  You like getting your hands dirty and want to be the one disassembling a problem to find out what is broken and how to fix it. You’re agile and adaptable but work with precision to ensure we deliver top-notch customer experiences, always.  You want to work on a project where you can see the fruits of your labor come to life and enjoy getting to see the finished product on the shelves of major retailers around the globe. You also have:      

  • Successfully support the design process to achieve all quality, performance, schedule and cost objectives in a cross-functional environment. 
  • Perform hands-on concept development, proto-typing, product testing, data collection and definition of product specifications. 
  • Carry out stack-ups and system analysis to ensure product assembly and functionality remain consistent throughout its lifetime. 
  • Investigate design issues & test failures, and identify, recommend and implement corrective actions to components. 
  • Construct 3D models to evaluate design options 
  • Be involved with cross-functional teams (Product Marketing, Reliability, Field Research) to help identify and define customer requirements and develop the tests to duplicate end user tasks 
  • Work in a core team of 3-4 engineers/designers to develop a product from start to finish, assure appropriate documentation is developed and maintained for component designs and engineering test results 
  • Support the builds of engineering, manufacturing and pilot lots to ensure that the products are assembled and tested in the correct way to ensure long term product quality 
  • Support the Engineering process for all engineering requirements to deliver a product that meets our history of guaranteed tough products 

  

The Person:  

You love to learn and grow and be acknowledged for your valuable contributions. You’re not intimidated by innovation. Wouldn’t it be great if you could do your job and do a world of good? In fact, you embrace it. You also have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 0 to 2 years of experience. 
  • Computer literate; MS Word, Power Point, Excel, 2D/3D CAD, FEA 
  • Have the ability to dissect a problem to help find the root cause and create a solution that addresses the issue. 
  • Enjoys getting your hands dirty and being involved in building, testing and du-bugging tools throughout the development cycle 
  • Quality – use of statistical tools, process capability, DOE’s, stack-ups, GD&T 
  • Coordination of internal resources for testing’s and analysis 
  • Enjoy Full/fast-paced design cycles that average 2 years and a dynamic work environment  
  • Possible international travel to visit manufacturing locations

The base pay range for this position in Maryland is 70,300.00 - 126,500.00 USD Annual per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
