Overview & Responsibilities
Elliott Company’s Jeanette, PA, office seeks an Engineer IV – Stress Analyst. This is a hybrid office-
based/work-from-home position responsible for applying accrued technical knowledge and experience in
the individual or participative plan and execution of engineering projects that precipitate designs,
application, and test for products, contracts, systems, or processes. Duties include: (i) performing static
structural stress analysis, stress analysis in a rotating reference frame, and modal analysis; (ii)
determination of structural acceptability in accordance with API 617 compressor standard, ASME BPVC,
and other specifications; (iii) determining force stimulus levels of cyclo-symmetric internal flows on bladed
disks; (iv) planning, budgeting, scheduling, and performing engineering assignments toward specified
objectives within allocated time, schedule, cost, and constraint established by supervision; and (v)
providing innovation and original ideas, collaborating with corporate patent department on new
turbomachinery application/user requirements, and submitting technical papers for publication.
This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position. The employee must be able to work in the
Jeannette office at least 2 days per week, plus additional days as intermittently required
by management.
Must have a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
plus three (3) years of experience in a related position.
Experience must include three (3) years working with Finite Element Analysis with a primary focus on
static or dynamic stress analysis or modal analysis.
Experience must include two (2) years working with: (i) computational fluid dynamics or fluid structure
interaction simulation; and (ii) turbomachinery components and rotor dynamics.
Experience must also include one (1) year performing Harmonic Analysis.
Must also have submitted for publication technical papers concerning harmonic analysis, Finite Element
Analysis, computational fluid dynamics and rotor dynamics/turbomachinery.
This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position. The employee must be able to work in the
Jeannette office at least 2 days per week, plus additional days as intermittently required
by management.
Experience can be concurrent.
