Description

As a Hotel Engineer II, you serve as an experienced maintenance professional responsible for independently diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex building systems. You are a key contributor to operational reliability, compliance, and team mentorship.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge who can work independently and lead projects.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Advanced Maintenance & Systems Oversight
  • Independently troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and spa systems
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and system repairs
  • Lead preventive maintenance programs and ensure compliance documentation is maintained
  • Oversee daily hot tub chemical testing and regulatory compliance (where applicable)

Operational Leadership

  • Monitor and prioritize maintenance requests
  • Delegate tasks to Engineer I team members as appropriate
  • Assist with training and skill development of junior engineers
  • Support emergency response and after-hours repairs

Vendor & Compliance Management

  • Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors and service contractors
  • Ensure compliance with town codes, fire safety regulations, and brand standards
  • Assist with inventory management and supply ordering
  • Support budgeting and cost control efforts

Property Standards

  • Conduct facility inspections and proactively address concerns
  • Maintain appearance standards across all public and back-of-house areas
  • Support capital improvement projects as assigned

Who You are

  • 4-7+ years hotel, resort, or commercial maintenance experience
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex issues
  • Experience working with vendors and contractors
  • Strong documentation and computer skills
  • Ability to mentor and guide others

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and kneeling throughout shift
  • Able to respond quickly to emergencies and reach all areas of the hotel
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
