Job Description
Are you ready to contribute your expertise to mission-critical projects supporting national defense? TechSilo is looking for an Engineer II to support the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) Task Order as an Associate Systems Engineer. This role involves hands-on support for Navy systems, including system engineering, test analysis, and technical documentation. If you’re passionate about military electronic systems and meet the qualifications below, this could be the perfect role for you. Ability, willingness and certification to climb 400-foot towers is a key duty of the position.
In this position, you’ll provide critical support in hardware, software, and interoperability tasks for CEC test events. You will work both independently and as part of a team to troubleshoot, document, and enhance system performance while providing technical guidance to others.
On a given day, you will spend time:
- Conducting system setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Operating test equipment to perform complex engineering analysis.
- Documenting engineering analysis, objectives, and results.
- Supporting CEC test events by preparing technical reports and providing detailed feedback.
- Collaborating with a team to deliver high-quality system engineering services.
Qualifications
- Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance or higher.
- Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years of technical experience supporting Navy systems in lieu of a degree.
- Experience Level: A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) systems. Candidates with greater CEC experience may qualify for a higher position.
- Skills and Certifications:
- Expertise in radar fundamentals, circuit repair, and test equipment.
- Familiarity with Link 16, Red Hat, and UNIX systems preferred.
- Knowledge of fiber optics and Navy A/C School (FC or OS) training preferred.
- Must be able to write, speak and understand English and be able to write clear, detailed technical monthly reports.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability and willingness to climb a 400-foot tower.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Minor, predominantly local, travel is required for day trips in and around the Virginia Beach area, with occasional multi-day trips to locations such as Wallops Island, VA; Dahlgren, VA; Pascagoula, MS; Bath, ME; and Moorestown, NJ possible.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
