Wage (gross) and other rewards: Minimum 1450€ / monthly (depending on experiences and quality of the candidate) + annual global incentive plan-bonus and other benefits in compliance with social benefit program of the company.

About the role:

Process Development (PD) Engineer II – Research and Development Engineering is a member of global team with responsibility for Process development located at Convatec operations.

Your key duties and responsibilities as an Engineer II – Research and Development:

• Development of manufacturing processes both in relation to ongoing new product development projects and as independent manufacturing and technology enhancement initiatives for future implementation.

• Apply structured designs for manufacturability (DfM) analysis on selected product concepts in projects and clearly flag designs problematic to effective high-volume manufacturing and communicate risks.

• Apply Design for Six Sigma to secure a data-driven base for decision making to systematically determine process windows and process parameters.

• Participate and/or coordinate/drive production of prototypes in close liaison with the projects, process development colleagues and operators at production sites.

• Perform manufacturing tests, design of new jigs and test rigs, and identify and communicate with external suppliers of services, technology, materials, and manufacturing equipment.

• Produce, update, review, and approve PD documents and secure efficient handover to the advanced Operations department.

• Liaise with Advanced Operations and Operations organization to use knowledge from manufacturing to select processes and map process related problems which may be solved in future manufacturing.

• Has basic statistical knowledge and can apply statistics in data sampling and data processing.

• Maintain systematic mapping of existing manufacturing methods and processes and create a knowledge base that enables an easy overview of processes and critical parameters.

• Can work in SolidWorkd or another 3D CAD software (advantage)

• Can work in AutoCAD or another 2D CAD software (advantage)

• To ensure compliance with the regulations for medical devices

• Basic knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.

• Basic knowledge of mechanical design and construction.

• Basic knowledge of design control.

• Good technical/mechanical understanding.

• Analytical mindset.

• Ability to apply critical reflection.

• Creativity.

• Good communication skills.

• Good cross-functional collaboration skills.

Education / Qualifications:

• University, technical degree preferred.

• Communicative level of English language.
