Engineer II, Python - (Data Platform - Tech Foundations)

We’re hiring an Engineer II, Golang to join the Data Platform team within Tech Foundations vertical, powering Delivery Hero - based in Glovo, Barcelona.

You will join one of the core platform teams within Glovo, helping to develop new capabilities of the Global Data Platform that empowers thousands of Delivery Hero group users to create and manage data products efficiently.
You will focus on designing and implementing backend services and platform components, ensuring that our data platform is reliable, secure, and optimized for growth.

Be a part of a team where you will:

• Design and build backend services, APIs, and tools that make data teams more productive

• Work on distributed systems problems related to scalability, reliability, and performance.
  Apply modern engineering practices: automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, observability.
  Collaborate closely with senior engineers to learn best practices and contribute to platform evolution.

• Take end-to-end responsibility for features, from design and implementation to deployment.

• Participate actively in team discussions and technical decision-making.

• ​​​​Experience diagnosing and resolving performance issues in complex software systems

• 2+ years of relevant full-time experience

• Proficient in Python, kotlin, or other high-level programming languages

• Extensive knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software architecture

• Passionate about writing automated tests and ensuring code reliability and  containerizing applications using Docker for consistent development, testing, and production environments

• Strong understanding of relational databases, concurrency and event-driven development,  and alternative data management approaches
   

Nice to have:

• Experience in managing distributed services/microservices platforms.

• Experience with Amazon web services or Google cloud services  (GCP)

• Experience with Data Mesh/ Datalake Catalogs. 

• Experience with Bigquery and/or Notebooks

• Experience with Kubernetes. 

• Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, Flink event streaming
