Senior Packaging Engineer:
Role Summary
The Senior Packaging Engineer leads the development of packaging programs, drives technical decisions, mentors junior engineers, and ensures robust, compliant, and cost‑effective packaging solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead packaging design and validation for new products and programs.
- Define packaging strategies aligned with business initiatives.
- Perform advanced testing, analysis, and root‑cause investigations.
- Develop and approve packaging standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Lead supplier engagement for packaging materials and tooling.
- Drive cost‑reduction, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and technically guide Packaging Engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, or related field. In lieu of a degree, previous work experience may be considered.
- 6–10 years of relevant packaging engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of global packaging material and design standards
- Strong understanding of packaging and transportation test procedures.
- Proficiency in CAD, PLM, and engineering documentation.
- Demonstrated experience leading packaging projects end‑to‑end.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with global suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6-10 years of relevant packaging engineering experience
