As an Engineer II, III, or Senior Engineer – Power Innovation & Project Development, you will support the development of power generation, energy storage, utility infrastructure, and emerging energy projects from concept through final investment decision (FID) and execution. Working across engineering, commercial, operations, and business teams, you'll help deliver innovative energy solutions that support Williams' growth strategy.
What You'll Do
Support development of power generation, energy storage, utility infrastructure, and emerging energy projects from concept through execution.
Develop conceptual designs, basis-of-design documents, project schedules, execution strategies, and capital cost estimates.
Perform technical and economic evaluations to support project screening, technology selection, and investment decisions.
Collaborate with commercial, business development, operations, environmental, regulatory, and construction teams.
Partner with engineering consultants, EPC contractors, equipment manufacturers, utilities, and customers.
Support development of innovative energy solutions for industrial, data center, and infrastructure applications.
Identify and mitigate technical, permitting, environmental, regulatory, constructability, and schedule risks.
Ensure projects are developed with consideration for safety, reliability, operability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance.
Engineer II
- Supports project development activities under guidance.
- Performs engineering analyses and develops technical expertise.
Engineer III
- Independently manages moderately complex assignments.
- Leads portions of development projects and delivers technical and economic evaluations.
Senior Engineer
- Leads complex projects with significant business impact.
- Provides technical leadership, mentorship, and strategic project guidance.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (Engineering Technology degree with PE license accepted).
- Experience in power generation, energy storage, utility infrastructure, industrial facilities, or other large capital projects.
- Knowledge of engineering design, project development, cost estimating, and project execution.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Required Experience by Level
- Engineer II: 2+ years of relevant experience
- Engineer III: 4+ years of relevant experience
- Senior Engineer: 8+ years of progressive experience, including leadership of complex projects
Preferred Qualifications
- FE or PE certification.
- Experience developing conceptual engineering packages, cost estimates, schedules, and business cases.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to collaborate across technical and business functions.
- Commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software tools.
Level placement (Engineer II, III, or Senior) will be based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capabilities.
