Job Description:

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for providing QA support to manufacturing operations, which includes coordination of material review board (MRB) activity, monitoring of manufacturing, inspection and test processes, and implementation of quality initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Support Operations daily by assisting in the identification, analysis, and resolution of a broad range of product and process problems utilizing DMAIC and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Support military and aerospace customers by providing failure analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation for returned materials.  Manage customer audits and source inspections, including pre-cap and final source inspections. Participate in customer MRB activities, quality audits, and factory tours as needed. 
  • Interface with the supply chain team to drive failure analysis, root cause determination and corrective action implementation for supplier material issues. 
  • Lead audit teams to ensure compliance to AS9100, ISO9001, MIL-STD certifications, etc., and assess the effectiveness of the quality management system. 
  • Help facilitate continual improvement across all functional areas through training and communication of quality initiatives. 
  • Develop knowledge of oscillator assembly, crystal and oscillator inspection, reliability monitoring, and first article inspection and documentation.
  • Assist management with the design, development, and maintenance of the quality management system. 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, or related field, OR 6 years equivalent experience in a change authority role. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently. 

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with frequency control products and related military performance specifications and standards. 
  • Proven experience working with military and aerospace customers, understanding their stringent quality requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of reliability and risk management, including key terms and definitions, modeling, assessment tools, and reporting. 
  • User experience with statistical analysis software. 
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite.
