Job Description for Mechanical Engineer - T9
The candidate will focus on the design and development of sheet metal enclosures for Power - UPS applications. Candidate will work in cooperation with other design engineers and cross functional teams for developing proto type units & factory, Will follow NPDI Gate processes & release documents. Will support for pilot lot & shopfloor issues.
Location : Ambernath Factory
Key Requirements
- Good knowledge of sheet metal design and sheet metal working processes
- Knowledge of 3D design and 2D drafting using CREO or any other CAD software
- Ability to work with speed and accuracy to deliver manufacturing drawings and other documents
- Experience in design of sheet metal enclosures for indoor applications
- Knowledge of enclosure design considering dust and water Ingress Protection
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 7-8 years of relevant work experience
Desirable
- Hands on Experience on sheet metal prototype development
- Knowledge of busbar design considerations
- Ability to work independently with least supervision
Responsibilities
- Design of complete sheet metal enclosure (3D design and manufacturing 2D drawings)
- Visit supplier and manufacturing plant for prototype development
- Handle all design related activities from product request till prototype development
- Responsible for timely and accurate delivery of drawings and other documents
- Perform detailed structural analysis and validation of designs to ensure safety, durability, and cost efficiency.
- Provide alternative solutions for mechanical designs that reduce costs without compromising quality or specifications.
- Evaluate and suggest alternative materials to enhance performance and reduce costs, ensuring compliance with both mechanical and electrical requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Electrical Engineers, Manufacturing, etc.) to optimize product designs.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for engineering projects.
