What Software Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health
Software Engineering is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting applications, systems and IT products required to achieve the company's business objectives.
- Demonstrates knowledge of software development techniques and fluency in software languages and application programming interfaces.
- Demonstrates general understanding of hardware/software platforms including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
- Plans and executes system implementations that ensure success and minimize risk of system outages or other negative production impacts.
- Demonstrates conceptual knowledge of architecture standards and database and operating systems.
- Demonstrates problem solving ability that allows for effective and timely resolution of system issues including but not limited to production outages.
- Analyzes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.
- Demonstrates knowledge of software development, life cycle, modeling of business processes, application design patterns, business/functional documents. Estimates to high level business requirements and provide options analysis.
Qualifications
- Engineering in Computer Science or related field
- 7+ years of industry experience.
- 4+ years of Experience In developing WebSphere (HCL) Commerce Development + Spring Boot.
- Essential to have good understanding of HCL/WebSphere Commerce functional and technical architecture (8/9), Framework, development environment and deployment Model
- Experience WC Data loads
- Design, implement and test web service applications for Order, Catalog, and Member modules
- Proven experience developing REST APIs
- Proven experience with Java and J2EE (e.g. Spring, core JAVA) and writing SQL Queries.
- Experience with DB2
- Experience with Developing REST API - Spring Boot, Micro services architecture
- Experience with Search is plus but not required.
- Agile framework experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem resolution skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong desire to learn new technologies.

Accountabilities & What is expected of you and others at this level:
- Strong Design, develop solutions within a multi-functional Agile team to support key business needs for HCL Commerce application
- Design, implement & Architect back-end solutions for eCommerce websites
- Design, implement and test web service applications for Order, Catalog, and Member modules
- Apply software engineering best practices
- Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis and take appropriate action to remediate issues
- Collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Must be able to document and demonstrate technical solutions by developing documentation, diagrams, code comments, etc.
- Development and support for enterprise-grade e-commerce websites (HCL Commerce/IBM WebSphere Commerce) using e.g. Java, JavaScript, SQL and REST
