Job Responsibilities
- Develop embedded firmware for optical modules (e.g., QSFP-DD, OSFP, CFP).
- Develop software tools to support efficient debugging, validation, and lab testing.
- Support cross-functional teams in firmware verification, validation, and troubleshooting, including RMA analysis of field issues.
- Maintain and enhance the firmware codebase, including documentation, version control, and firmware upgrade management.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, optics, and test engineering teams to ensure product performance, reliability, and compliance with specifications.
Qualifications and requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development.
- Strong proficiency in C programming for MCU and embedded systems.
- Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
- Experience with at least two development environments such as SEGGER, IAR, Keil, CrossWorks, or GCC.
- Solid understanding of communication interfaces such as I²C, SPI, and MDIO.
- Experience with Python or C# for developing tools, GUIs, or test scripts.
- Good English proficiency for reading technical specifications, IC datasheets, and writing documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
- Experience in assembly language programming is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of circuit design and PCB layout is a plus.
- Experience in closed-loop control algorithm development is a plus.
- Familiarity with RTOS or multi-threaded firmware architectures is a plus.
- Familiarity with optical communication standards (e.g., CMIS 3.0–5.x, SFF-8636) is a plus.
- Familiarity with CFP, QSFP, and OSFP specifications and protocols is a plus.
- Understanding of coherent and PAM4 optical modules (active and passive) is a plus.
