Robert Bosch LLC seeks Engineer Dev. (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 8101 Dorchester Road, Charleston, SC 29418. Responsible for engineering customer project management of the hydraulic modulator component of advanced hydraulic braking systems such as Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Integrated Power Brake (IPB) and Decoupled Power Brake (DPB). Work closely with the CC customer project management team (commercial and technical) as well as with design teams, test engineers, and customer representatives to assure on-time development and validation of hydraulic modulators for different braking systems and their release into series production. Responsible for local and international customer projects of braking systems assemble in Charleston, SC and Aguascalientes, MX plants. Manage technical customer projects in a dynamic environment and ensure all deliverables to internal and external customers are provided on time and in the required quality. Manage the budget for each project within a budget limit and negotiate additional budget should the project scope change. Manage International projects with flexible work hours and with associates and customers with different cultures. Propose and evaluate technical solutions for initial customer project quotations, perform technical project assessments and provide an engineering summary including required effort and material cost estimates. Define and maintain proper hardware content for hydraulic modulators in project management databases. Evaluate internal and customer requirements (REQM) and negotiate requirement specifications as needed. Manage project milestones and deliverables according to CC local and global engineering processes. Work with the PCM’s for other components and the production plant as part of a Cross-Functional Team (CFT). Coordinate the creation and maintenance of customer offer drawings with CAD designers in various locations. Manage the creation and maintenance of Technical Customer Documents (TCD) with supporting teams. Plan and assure delivery of internal test and validation samples, support sample deliveries to the customer. Prepare series production BOM releases under consideration of applicable quality assurance procedures. Manage engineering changes for the product used in the project(s). Align tasks and responsibilities with PCM counterparts in international locations for global customer projects. Perform additional tasks in design and / or design verification. Contribute continuously to CIP (Continuous improvement) initiatives by submitting and driving new product, process and cost saving ideas into the daily work. Conduct technical product knowledge training with internal and / or external customers to include product specifications, Failure Mode Effects Analysis & product hardware information. REQS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field and 3 years of experience as a Design Engineer, Technical Project Manager or other occupation involving product development engineering. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Technical project management; (2) Modulation and braking systems; (3) Initial product quotation support, sample management, document release for production, bill of materials and engineering change management; (4) Mechanical Engineering design; and (5) CAD design.
