Job Description:
Position Purpose & Summary:
• Creation of ASME calculations, drawings, and bills of material.
• Consultation in the quoting, sales, purchasing and production processes as necessary.
• Compliance of pressure vessel design and construction with the ASME (The American Society of Mechanical Engineers) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII and the NBIC (National Board Inspection Code), JIS B 8265 (Construction of pressure vessel ), familiar with Korea Gas Safety Corporation ( KGS ) registration procedure.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Validate pressure vessel design and material construction during the quoting process.
• Create customer approval drawings and revise as necessary according to customer feedback.
• Create and validate calculations with ASME and customer requirements.
• Create bills of material in the ERP system (SAP)
• Create fabrication packages including top-level drawings, subcomponent detail drawings and bills of material.
• Field in-process fabrication questions and issues.
• Supplier audit preparation, participation, and follow-up
• The responsibilities will include cost, material, manufacturing process analysis, identification and evaluation of alternatives, design compliance, and tooling development.
• Familiar with BS/EN CODE and ASME Performs and documents evaluations of components to the rules and requirements of Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Utilizes the results from these evaluations to optimize component(s) design.
• Prepare and/or review engineering specifications, CAD models, and other documentation that communicate the design and technical.
• Preparation of engineering specification, mechanical data sheets, technical bid evaluation and proposal and provide technical bid tap, review and approval of vendor design calculations, fabrication drawings, WPS/PQR, Inspection & Testing Plan (ITP) etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Working with QC lead to perform critical holding point inspection during fabrication, installation and commissioning phases, co-ordination with QC inspectors and other engineering disciplines to resolve problems during engineering, fabrication, commissioning stages.
• Working with sourcing engineer for new supplier qualification and supplier performance management • Able to handle and execute projects or work on site to improve plant efficiency in terms of preparation, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned projects and monitor the workmanship on site.
• Willingness and ability to travel to site when needed.

Academic Qualification:
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar subject
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication in English. Proficiency in other language is an added advantage based on business needs.
Experiences:
• Proficient in Solidworks (Modeling, Routing/BOM, Simulation, EPDM)
• Preferred 5-7 years of design or related experience.
• Must have the ability to work with and/or assemble small objects and component parts
• Must be able to analyze and resolve product design issues of a broad scope using independent judgment.
• Excellent documentation skills (Specifications, Test Plans, Test Reports)
Knowledge:
• Solid knowledge of mechanical properties, failure mechanisms and processing of engineering materials (such as stainless steel )
• Knowledge of engineering materials and fabrication processes
• Knowledge of engineering change management and document management concepts
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP is preferred)
• Knowledge with international standards such as API, ASME, BS, and ANSI, Pressure Equipment Directive ( PED ) relevant to the domain of chemical process plant operations.
• Knowledge with internationally recognized codes i.e, ASME VIII Div. 1 and 2,
• Knowledge with modular process skid design
• Good knowledge and experience in inspection of pressure vessels fabrication, materials, welding and NDE
Skills:
• Strong mechanical design and analysis skills - The ability to develop and utilize free body diagrams, 3D CAD models, FMEA’s (failure modes & effects analysis), GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing), tolerance analysis, statistical analysis are required.
