Murex is a global fintech leader in trading, risk management and processing solutions for Capital Markets. Standard Bank has partnered with Murex in delivering this solution across its Capital Markets franchise to make it our strategic Markets Platform application of choice.
The purpose of the job is to perform the role of a Risk Business Support and Development Engineer for the Murex Risk BSD team, servicing the Market Risk and Collateral businesses’ regulatory & risk management requirements.
- Provide technical delivery, support, and advisory aligned to business stakeholder demand and Murex programme initiatives
- Apply expertise across asset classes and the full end-to-end solution lifecycle (scope, analyse, plan, design, develop, test, operate)
- Own hands-on delivery while developing standards and best practices for the Murex Risk platform
- Ensure optimal technical performance and platform stability
- Upskill and coach team members to strengthen overall Murex expertise
- Operate as a generalist within the Murex Centre of Excellence, supporting a broad range of initiatives
- Build, demonstrate, and apply strong service assurance management practices (business, audit, delivery, etc.) over time

Additional InformationExperience Required: Software Engineering
5-7 years: Broad experience in translating business and functional requirements into technical specifications and developing the programming code to create the solutions.
8-10 years: Proven experience in modern engineering practices i.e. dev ops, agile etc., Proven experience across multiple, broad IT Engineering disciplines, with demonstrated specialisation in at least one. Experience within the required scope of expertise.
